I start with a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation so that we can learn more about one another and answer any questions you may have about therapy. It is important to find the right fit for your therapy needs.
-
Individual sessions are 50 minutes long. I am in-network with Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna and United Healthcare. In the event that I am not in network with your insurance provider, I am happy to provide superbills for submission to your insurance company.

In therapy, I take a collaborative and personalized approach. Together, we’ll explore your goals, challenges and strengths to create a plan that fits your life. Depending on your needs, I use evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help shift unhelpful thought patterns, Motivational Interviewing to support meaningful change and strategies from harm reduction and the stages of change model when working with substance use or other behavioral challenges.
I work with clients on:
Bipolar Disorder & Mood Concerns: Identifying triggers, developing coping strategies and building routines that support stability.
Anxiety & Depression: Exploring underlying patterns, practicing practical coping skills and enhancing resilience.
Addiction & Substance Use / Dual Diagnosis: Supporting self-defined recovery, managing cravings and strengthening motivation for change.
Life Transitions & Relationship Issues: Navigating change, improving communication and fostering personal growth.
Cancer Survivorship: Processing grief, anxiety, and identity shifts and building strategies for emotional and practical support.
Sexuality & LGBTQ+ Affirming Care: Providing a safe space to explore identity, relationships and related challenges.
Technology & AI-Related Stress: Supporting clients as they navigate anxiety about automation or career uncertainty, shifts in identity, and the emotional impact of emerging technologies. This can include exploring attachment to AI tools, feelings of loneliness or broader ethical and existential questions, while building balance, clarity and resilience.
My goal is always to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, supported and empowered to make choices that align with their values and goals.
About
I have over fourteen years of experience in the behavioral health field, working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. During a graduate internship, I discovered my passion for supporting individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Since then, I have worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings throughout the Triangle.
I work to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients feel heard and understood. I focus on building strong connections, helping people tap into their strengths, and fostering hope for meaningful change. My approach is whole-person and integrative, drawing from evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, while also incorporating the stages of change model and harm-reduction principles. I honor each person’s autonomy, supporting them in defining what recovery and progress look like for themselves. Above all, I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe sharing their stories, exploring challenges, and working toward positive transformation. I also value teamwork and a strong therapeutic alliance, working alongside clients as partners in their journey.
A native of Raleigh, I am deeply committed to my community. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, reading, cooking or enjoying the outdoors.

Your first session is often referred to as an intake session. During this time, I will ask you various questions to better understand your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history and any significant life events or challenges. This process allows me to assess how you are doing and start crafting a treatment plan that meets your needs.
One of my main goals is to build rapport. It is completely normal to feel nervous! But I am trained to navigate these moments with patience and care. Our first session is also your opportunity to learn more about me, ask any questions you have and assess whether this feels like a good fit.

The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on individual needs and schedules. It is typical to meet weekly or every other week. Sessions are 50 minutes long.

I see clients both in-person and virtually - it is a matter of personal preference. Virtual therapy can be incredibly helpful and can make therapy more accessible. That being said, it’s not for everyone. I work to make online sessions as engaging and interactive as possible.
